A publishing house built from the inside out.
We didn't come from traditional publishing. We came from the same place most of our authors do — with something to say and no roadmap for how to say it properly.
Where the name comes from.
DENNER Media is named after our kids — specifically, parts of their names woven together in a way that made sense to us and to no one else at first. That's probably fitting. Most worthwhile things start that way.
The name is a reminder of why the work matters. It's not a brand exercise. It's personal — and that shows up in how we treat every author we work with.
And while the books he's writing may — or may not — end up on 'best seller' lists, helping other authors take their big swing? That feels like something worth putting the kids' names on.
Where the company comes from.
DENNER Media launched in 2017 as a small content and media shop — social posts, blog articles, brand storytelling. The shift into publishing didn't happen overnight. It was more like a tanker slowly changing course — gradual, accumulative, and then suddenly obvious.
It started with a childhood memory of sitting at a typewriter and thinking how cool it would be to one day become a recognized author. It continued on through years of wanting to publish work of his own, navigating a process that was confusing, expensive, and gatekept at every turn. Along the way, Joseph started helping friends and colleagues do the same — unofficially, without any grand plan, just because he knew things they didn't and it seemed wrong to keep that to himself.
What started as content work became something none of us fully anticipated. The publishing house didn't arrive with a grand announcement. It just became undeniable.
Joseph Trevors — two chapters, one publisher.
Barnaby River, NB — late 1970s.Turns out this was the beginning.
Joseph grew up in Barnaby River, New Brunswick. This photo is from sometime in the late 1970s. Maybe it was a look into the future. Maybe it was just a Sunday afternoon. Either way — here we are.
The first chapter of his career took him through banking, lending, real estate, and business consulting — over three decades of real-world experience across industries. After 2015, a deliberate pivot took him deeper into health, wellness, personal development, and eventually back to writing.
Getting back to writing meant hitting every wall an independent author hits — the overwhelming complexity of self-publishing, the fees and false promises from publishers who charged a lot and delivered very little, the finished manuscripts sitting in drawers because no one could figure out the path forward. Over the years, informally and without any grand plan, Joseph started helping others navigate those same walls. Friends. Colleagues. Anyone who asked. And somewhere in that accumulation of experience — his own publishing, his own mistakes, his own hard-won knowledge — the shape of something real started to emerge.
The definitive pivot came when his first signed author — a close friend and wellness practitioner who had watched Joseph navigate this world for years — simply refused to let him keep doing it unofficially. She pushed him to go all in. DENNER Media became, deliberately and finally, a boutique publishing house: built for authors who know something, have lived something, or have a story worth telling — and need the right partner to help bring it into the world properly.
That's a wide range of lived experience across a lot of industries — and it matters here. If you're writing in any of these spaces, fiction or non-fiction, you're working with a publisher who already knows the territory.
How we got here.

DENNER Media pivots to publishing house
Years of personal publishing experience, informal help given to friends and colleagues, and a growing understanding of what authors actually need — all of it pointed in the same direction. The focus sharpens: a boutique independent publishing house for writers, practitioners, founders, and experts who want their work brought into the world properly. Fiction and non-fiction alike.
First external author published
Candace Raynes of Woman UnWound becomes the first author published under the DENNER Media imprint. UnWound and Soften go live on Amazon KDP.
What we believe.

We tell you what we think, what things cost, and what to expect — before you sign anything. No surprises. No fluff.
Real investment
We take a stake in your future sales because it keeps us genuinely invested in how your book performs — not just on launch day.
Small by design
We work with a small number of authors at a time. Every project gets real attention, not a template and a handoff.
Authors keep the majority of their royalties. Always. Learn how we work →
If you have a story worth telling — we want to hear about it.
